Come see me do something I rarely get to do in public! SING!!!!
I’ll be on hand with DRAWING HOPE at this glamorous, one-night-only Hollywood benefit to support survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
Drawing Hope is a charitable organization that – through art – serves survivors of abuse and other life struggles. Drawing Hope helps survivors connect with their own strength, see their beauty and embrace their freedom.

I know Gadhafi is dead now. But what about his poor Ukrainian private nurse that took care of him for all those many years? She needs a job. Maybe Bashar Al-Assad has need for a private nurse? I bet she knows how to give him “shot” that would make him “not to wake up.”
Tonight my mom put her boyfriend Bob on the phone with me, and Bob was (sweetly) talking about the time I was on the Conan O’Brien show. But he kept getting Conan’s name wrong:
“Remember when you was on that Cannon? And Cannon asked you to sing?”
Cannon, Conan, Conan, Cannon. For some reason people over 50 have a hard time getting the “Conan” thing down. My mom’s 90 year old friend Elizabeth down in Baton Rouge always calls it “The O’Connor Show.”
I doubt anyone on Tumblr is old enough to remember, but wayyyyyy way back in the pre-youtube, pre-internet, pre-cell phone, pre-home computer days, there was a kick-ass show called Cannon. It even had a spin-off: Barnaby Jones!
(In hindsight, it seems unjust that a spin-off is remembered far more than it’s “parent” series. But that’s Hollywood, folks.)
Dear COTTONHEAD, myyyyyy band (COTTONHEAD),
is suing your ass.
Just kidding. We did our fair share of rocking NYC back in the
“late early-mid 90’s”, but we haven’t had a gig since probably 2005? I randomly stumbled upon a video of this NEW COTTONHEAD in a highschool talent show (I guess). I hope they won, dammit, cuz it does my heart good to know there are still kids out there “giving it to the man” through rock and roll, even if only on a highschool talent show stage. Go get ‘em, NEW COTTONHEAD. You’re way better than NEW COKE®.
(p.s. when the first chords started to play, I freaked, because they sounded eerily similar to ORIGINAL COTTONHEAD’S
world famous (not) hit “HEAR ME OUT”: http://soundcloud.com/marybirdsong/hear-me-out
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE…. HOMS?
Dorothy’s taught us all that there’s no place like home. But what happens when your home is Homs, Syria? Children are not just being killed, but tortured. And with all due respect to Ms. Whitney Houston (may she rest in peace) it is disgusting to me that CNN devoted more time to her death than what is happening in Homs and other parts of the middle east.
My Santorum song just got blogged in the Naughty Parts section of Kick!
Tea Party Spokesperson Harriet Tubman addresses “google” scandal caused by Dan Savage when he created a fake definition of “Santorum” online involving anal sex, “lube” and “froth.” As usual– she only makes matters worse.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! (help?)
I’m producing and starring in a hilarious comedy short called THE SPIRIT SEEKER this March, and we’re in desperate need of a CHEAP (maybe even free?) location within 30 miles of LA in for the shoot. If you know of anything that could pass for a charming bed and breakfast-type place, please let me know asap! Thanks!
The Spirit Seeker is about a team of TV ghost hunters investigating an old Pennsylvania farm that’s been turned into a B&B. This short will skewer the ghost-hunting genre that seems to have taken over cable tv.
It stars Mary Birdsong (Reno 911, The Descendants) as Samantha Bell— the “Oprah of paranormal investigators”, Rachael Harris (The Hangover) & Jim Murray (Chaos and BBC’s Primeval) as “big city” husband & wife owners of a bed & breakfast they want investigated, and Steve Agee (The Sarah Silverman Program) as the cameraman and “tech guru” of the investigating team.
We’re shooting in the LA area in March (see attached photos for examples).
Here’s what we looking for:
EXTERIORS (We can shoot exteriors and interiors in separate locations if need be.)
1. Older farmhouse-style house with driveway.
2. Old barn.
3. Well.
4. Animal area - goats are preferred.
INTERIORS - we’re hoping to get MOST, if not all, of these.
1. Living room with cozy look, couch and chairs. Fireplace would be a plus.
2. Kitchen with table.
3. Dining room with table.
4. Small office.
5. Bedroom. Small and cozy is preferred.
6. Hallway.
7. Staircase.
8. Basement.
