Holy Singing Kirk (Douglas) Cow! Apparently an old song called WHISKEY that Mary Birdsong & the OK Canaries sang for YEARS was inspired by an even older song from a 1952 Kirk Douglas movie called The Big Sky. Kirk’s version was called, “Oh, Whiskey Leave Me Alone.” Greg Talenfeld wrote our song, and he never told me til this week what it came from. I just figured it came from our mutual love of the devil’s nectar.
Listen to Kirk’s version in the video above, then compare it to the version by Mary Birdsong & the O.K. Canaries!
